A Flood A flood is a devastating natural calamity. Heavy rainfall causes this serious monster. The flood happened all over the country causing irreparable damages of standing crops, houses, cattle and untold sufferings of men and women. People of all classes experienced this devastating flood. The flood in a dangerous form occurred in the whole county. Many people became homeless, shelterless, foodless and helpless. They also mounted the high lands climbed the tree and the roofs of building as well taking them to be safer places. The Govt. and N.G.O.s also took direct steps to fight with this natural calamity. Food, clothes, medicine and shelters were provided to the flood victims to ensure their safety. The result of the flood is really adverse. It takes a long time to make up the loss caused by flood.

Hospital A hospital is a place where sick people gather for treatment. It gives medical treatment to them free of cost. A hospital is run either by public or by the government. A big hospital has a large staff of qualified doctors and trained nurses while a small one has a small establishment. A village charitable dispensary which is also a kind of hospital has only one doctor and one compounder. Each hospital has two sections – the outdoor and the indoor. Generally, a greater number of sick people are treated in the outdoor section. People attacked with serious illness are admitted in the indoor section. They are kept there under treatment till they are considered fit to leave it. A Table Clock A table clock is a timekeeping machine. It is kept on the table. It measures our life. It makes sound like tick and tick in every second of our life. It is made of steel or plastic frame. It has two pointers – one is for a minute and the other is for an hour. The bigger is for indicating minutes and the smaller is for indicating hours. It has also another pointer for reckoning second. It ticks and ticks without any break. If it stops, the whole thing is at standstill. A table clock is most useful to a student. It helps us to know the time. A table clock has an alarm. If we fix it to a certain time, it can produce an alarm sound. It can remind us of our works. Table clocks are of different size – some are round and some are of rectangular shape, some look very attractive. They can add to the beauty of a room but their function is the most important.

Collision A collision between vehicles is a daily occurrence in modern city life in Bangladesh. Day before yesterday a bus and a rickshaw were in collision on the diversion road in front of the Science Laboratory Police Box. This occurred owing to the violation of traffic signal. A bus was coming from the south with full speed. Violating the traffic signal it ran and struck a rickshaw. On the instant, the rickshaw went upside down. As a result, three people were injured. Two of them were serious. In no time they were rushed to the Dhaka Medical Hospital for treatment. There the doctors and the nurses took every care of them. God saved them. The police on duty arrested the bus driver and seized the bus. A case was filed against the bus driver at Dhanmondi Police Station.
