Tension Nowadays we are very much familiar with the word ‘tension’ . It connotes a disturbed state of things as contradistinguished from peaceful conditions. It may arise and abide in the mind of an individual as well as in the life of the international human community. An individual may be said to have been suffering from tension when he is in the grip of mental strain or excitement. This is a state of continuous anxiety which eats into his vitals and causes him many serious problems including fatal heart disease. In our national life, we may suffer from tensions of social, political or communal nature. In the international world, we find border tension and the cold war between nations which may lead to violence and war. Whatever may be the nature or shape or form of tension, it is very dangerous. All of our should, therefore, try to keep free from any kind of tension at any cost.

Self-Help Self-help denotes that a man depends on himself and does not wait to be helped by others. A man who depends on others for doing his work or meeting his need can never be successful in life. For others may not be in a position to come forward with their helping hand neglecting their own duties. In that case, the man who depends on others will land into the wilderness of frustration. So the proverb goes, “Self-help is the best help.” One of the greatest virtues is, therefore, the habit of self-help. A man who does not depend on others enjoys a sort of glorious independence. His attitude towards life is the attitude of a hero. He is a host in himself.
